The Comrades double marathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg is 90km long and probably one of the most difficult athletic feats to achieve anywhere in the world. It is also a sporting event with its own part to play in South African history from Apartheid until the present day.
It is now an event that includes all South Africans from any racial background, poor or wealthy.
The spectacle this film presents is a phenomenal portrayal of the competitors’ enduring sprit and physical ability as we follow them from beginning to end, through exhaustion and success.
