John Brzenk, the inspiration behind ‘80s Stallone nostalgia flick Over the Top, is the world’s greatest arm wrestler, unbeaten in all grades within the sport for the past 25 years, an incredible achievement in any sport.
What is left to achieve for an athlete who has won everything, forever? Does he retire or continue to defend his title?
These are the questions an ageing Brzenk faces as two younger, ambitious arm-wrestlers, one from the US, one from Russia, fight hard to create the impression that the Cold War is nowhere near over. Their only common goal? To beat the best.
