This is the story of three Bedouin women living in the Negev Desert under a polygamist system of marriage.
Desert Brides follows the experiences of these women through the eyes of one who photographs wedding ceremonies as she deals with social pressure for her husband to take a second wife.
The other two women are pushed into marrying already married men, and become "second wives", forced to cooperate within a structure they despise or are afraid of.
Desert Brides provides a gripping and moving direct cinema portrait of the dramas and lives surrounding the colourfully opulent wedding ceremonies involved.
