Tono, an amateur Mexican rap artist and breakdancer, releases his own track criticising the national policing and judicial system, where 90% of those charged with an offence are convicted of it. His music proves prophetic when he is arrested for a murder he did not commit.
A number of years later, two Mexican lawyers from the University of Berkeley, California, having achieved the successful release of another innocent man, take up Tono’s case.
We follow an utterly incredible two year battle of dramatic twists and turns that highlights a farcical legal process that presumes guilt over innocence.
