Northern Ireland has produced a long and illustrious list of film classics. Titles such as Mojo Mickybo, In the name of the Father and Leaving Loughbrickland have highlighted the creative talent and ambition in our local film industry. But filmmaking is a difficult and complex process, some films never reach completion or receive a general release for commercial, artistic or moral reasons.
Over the last year, Factotum, a critical cultural archiving hub, has been researching the background behind a number of films developed locally which never reached our cinemas.
This exhibition tells the story of these films through artwork and film posters designed for such titles as Cullybacky, Touching Brian and 2050 Battlefield Ballymena.
