Have you ever been stuck watching a film at the cinema and wanted to laugh out loud at the saccharine sweetness of a sappy moment? Wanted to shout: “THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!” during any number of films starring Tom Cruise? Felt the urge to throw popcorn at the screen in protest? Well now you can! Armed only with their wit and their laser pointers, the The Bad Film Club take you on a journey through bad plot lines, terrible dialogue, awful acting and some of the worst special effects known to man.
In the musical Xanadu Roller Disco, Olivia Newton John, the greek gods, Cliff Richard, Gene Kelly and ELO mix to make what could be the worst musical ever made. Look at Xanadu with an eye toward storytelling superiority and your head will explode. To appreciate the madness within, one must take in the blinding neon sights with an open heart and a stiff drink.
Nicko and Joe will give a running commentary and also give the audience tiny plastic instruments to create the Xanadu Audience Orchestra who will play while the boring songs are on; people are encouraged to shout as many obscenities at the screen as possible.
“Watching a bad film on your own can be a pointless, soul-destroying experience. In company, though, it can be painfully hilarious” The Guardian
