Brendan Gunn is a Belfast-born dialect coach who has worked extensively on Irish Films as well as many films worldwide. He has worked on some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters and has been dialect coach for such stars as Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Robert De Niro and Sacha Baron Cohen.
The linguistics expert and former lecturer has been working in the film industry since a chance encounter gave him work on Mickey Rourke's A Prayer for the Dying. For this workshop and talk Brendan explains what makes the perfect dialogue coach and some of the techniques involved in delivering effective accents for the screen. As part of this event, Brendan will show some film clips and share some interesting anecdotes about working with actors on their delivery.
Heather Graham: “We had a coach. He was amazing, this guy named Brendan Gunn. He's done a lot of movies and, thank God for him, because we were very scared”.
