The film received its Gala Premiere during festival and the sold out screening had the audience howling and whooping with laughter throughout.
The film's producer Katy Jackson said :
“We were so delighted in the first instance with the turnout and to receive such a reaction on top of that, made the journey all extremely worthwhile”. Colin McIvor the film's director added:
“ The reaction to the film was so overwhelming. Hopefully this will bode well for 'Cup Cake's' festival ambitions”.
Wee Buns Ltd, the company behind 'Cup Cake' is now planning to send the film out to international film festivals and is hoping to secure a distribution deal.
Starring Adam Best (Holby City) as PJ the film follows his trials, tribulations and dilapidated cakes as he struggles to keep his family bakery from flopping.
The film also stars Michelle Fairley (Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows), Clive Russell (Jam And Jerusalem), Paddy Jenkins (Bel's Boys) Ian McElhinney (Single-Handed) and introduces Kasia Koleczek as 'Gala' PJ's foreign love interest.
Katy and Colin wish to sincerely thank everybody involved in the production!
