| | | | | | | | Empire is an independent film on a variation of the classic Greek myth Orpheus. It is set in Belfast and shot over 3 years on a zero budget.
Max (Hugh Brown) is a wandering fool and Christmas is but another humdrum excuse for drinking and offending his friends, until he is captivated by Karen (Meabh Ivers), a vaudevillian can-can dancer who isn’t quite what she seems.
The Empire Music Hall is a feeding ground for hungry souls, looking for more than just entertainment. When Max persuades Karen to take an evening off, it will be a time he never forgets. But how far is Max willing to go to discover the one he loves?
