Sunday at Five
Queen’s Film Theatre
Saturday 19 April
4.00pm
£6.00/£5.50

Dir. Joan Lopez, 2008, Spain, 57 mins

Reflecting on the 10 years that have passed since the Belfast Agreement this film examines crucial aspects of our recent history through the eyes of Seanna Walsh (ex Republican prisoner) and Billy McQuiston (ex Loyalist prisoner). The complexity of the conflict, and of peace-making, as seen from inside and outside prison is explored through archive footage and a series of authentic and fascinating interviews. Family members, prison warders, relatives of victims and mediators give testimony of their own particular experiences. A timely and brilliant contribution on both the personal and political developments here since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement ten years ago.

Also short film screening:

The Liverpool Mural Project - Give Paint A Chance
Dir. Tom Borso, 2007, UK, 12 mins

In 2005 Gregory Brennan and Peter Morrison visited Belfast and took a taxi tour of the famous Belfast Murals. With the peace process in Northern Ireland and Liverpool celebrating European Capital of culture the timing was perfect and the Liverpool Mural Project was born.
