A dark coming-of-age drama about six fourteen year old kids bunking off school to play in the woods. They are befriended by a drifter, whose behaviour becomes increasingly suspect.

Director Julian Richards’ is no stranger to the Horror genre with previous work including The Last Horror Movie and Darklands. Summer Scars is however his most personal film based on an incident that happened to him when he was a teenager. After a hit and run incident involving a stolen moped, the kids are befriended by the victim; a drifter named Peter who recruits the boys in a military style game designed to test their endurance. But as Peter’s behaviour becomes increasingly aggressive, the kids are forced embrace the dark side of human nature if they are going to survive the ordeal.

Summer Scars sheds serious light on the choices we are forced to make under extreme circumstances where our impulsive reactions can sometimes take us beyond what we thought capable.
