Benito (Alberto San Juan), a less than-steller trumpet player returns from Madrid to his hometown to bury his father, while there he plays upon the fact that he is a renowned musician in Madrid and cannot stay long in the sleepy town he once came from.
While there, he discovers that his good-guy brother Lalo - nicknamed ‘Iron Man’ because of his scrap-metal sculptures - is about to marry. His bride to be is a woman named Nines, a single mother who Benito remembers all too well from his young partying adolescent days. Benito decides to save his brother from such a fate however while visiting his future sister in law, he comes across her daughter Ainara, a rebellious rascal who Benito forges a one-of-a-kind relationship with.
Under The Stars combines quirkiness with poetry and more than consolidates the international reputation of writer-director Felix Viscarret.
