Some claimed that the shocking decision by the board of the 2012 Olympics not to admit Pong as a sport would finish this finest of electronic entertainments. But no! Pong does not need such insignificant and small minded competitions to thrive. Pong breathes. Pong moves. Pong lives!
Who will drag themselves from the fetid mass grave of obscurity to the shining pinnacle of electronic achievement? Will it be last year’s champion Benji “Paddles” De Burca? Or some young pup hungry for blood on the joysticks?
Live commentary, psychological analysis and humiliation will again be supplied by heartless arbiters of justice Paddy Bloomer and Dan Jewesbury.
